Punjab All Set To Achieve Another Milestone In Green Energy Generation By Setting 100 MW Solar Power Plant At Bathinda: Majithia

Punjab is moving closer to the aim of revolutionizing the renewable energy sector in the country with establishment of 100 MW Solar Power Plant at Sadargarh & Chughe Kalan in district Bathinda. New & Renewable Energy Resources, Revenue, Rehabilitation, Information & Public Relations Minister, Punjab, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia disclosing this today said that Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal will dedicate the India’s largest single Horizontal Single Axis Tracker Plant to the people.In a statement issued here,  Mr. Majithia said that this project has been commissioned almost six months ahead of scheduled time which will lead to abatement of 30 Lac tons of carbon dioxide emissions in the next 25 years. ‘The project is equivalent to planting 9 Lac trees and saving of 9000 acre land’ added Majithia.

1Mr. Majithia further said that this project will generate clean and green energy sufficient to power to 225 villages. He said that this project set up Adani Enterprises Ltd, part of the Adani Group, a globally integrated infrastructure player. He further said that the solar plant is not only the largest project in Punjab but will also prove to be the largest tracker-based solar project in the country. The technology used for setting up this plant includes Poly Crystalline Silicon PV Modules and Horizontal Single Axis Tracker (HSAT). This plant will be India’s biggest HSAT plant at a single location. The plant spreads over approximately 641 acres of land with the evacuation of 132 kV Balluana Substation through Double circuit 132 KV transmission line. The annual energy yield is expected to be approximately 88,000 Mwh/ annum.
